Edgar-Reitz-Filmhaus
For many years, many props and set photos from the film trilogy HEIMAT and also from the film “Die andere HEIMAT” were exhibited in a separate section in the Hunsrück Museum in Simmern.
For some time now, this exhibition has been located in the Edgar-Reitz-Filmhaus on the corner of Fruchtmarkt and Oberstraße in Simmern. In the former workshop of the Ziegelmayer building complex, everything revolves around the director's cinematic work and the HEIMAT trilogy. It shows numerous props from all parts of the series, including the newly acquired war memorial from HEIMAT 1.
In 2024, the film "DIE ANDERE HEIMAT" will also be incorporated into the exhibition. The theme for 2024 is "200 years of emigration to Brazil", which is historically significant for the Hunsrück region.
